Volunteer Information Session – September 29

CASA Minnesota is holding monthly Volunteer information sessions. Please join us for one of these sessions to learn more about the volunteer CASA/GAL role. Whether you are simply curious or have lots of questions, this is a great opportunity to hear from a current volunteer as you determine if volunteering is right for you.

CASA Minnesota recruits individuals to become volunteer guardians ad litem for the state of Minnesota. The volunteer role has several significant requirements and operates at a professional level. Some of the key qualifications include:

• 21+ years old
• Pass a comprehensive criminal background and reference check
• Interview with the state of Minnesota and be selected for the program
• Complete 40 hours of pre-service training and maintain 15 hours of continuing education credits each year

Volunteers spend an average of 10–12 hours a month on their assigned case and are asked to commit until the case closes (an average of 18 months) to ensure stability for the child.
