Giving children a voice.

Our mission is to support and promote court-appointed volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children in Minnesota and to enrich the lives of children in foster care.

The Essential Role of Volunteers in Child Protection

CASA Minnesota (CASA MN) believes that volunteer Guardians ad Litem play a critical role in the child welfare system. These volunteers work with child welfare professionals, educators and service providers to ensure that judges have the information they need to make the most well-informed decisions for each child and that the needs and best interests of that child are fully represented. In an often over-burdened system, these volunteers are essential to serving the kids and families in our state and as an organization, we are dedicated to supporting volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children in our child protection court system.  LEARN MORE

Advocates for Abused and Neglected Children

Our organization is the state’s liaison to the National CASA Association. We believe that every abused and neglected child should have an advocate working for their best interests.  In pursuit of this goal, we do the following:

Assist in the recruitment and retention of Minnesota volunteer guardians ad litem

Provide initial and continuing education and support to Minnesota volunteer guardians ad litem

Increase public awareness about child welfare and guardians ad litem

Provide a network for communication  among Minnesota volunteer guardians ad litem

Advocate for legislative change, public policies and best practices that enhance the quality of advocacy and care for abused and neglected children

Grant Opportunities

CASA MN also provides grant opportunities for children living in foster care, through CASA Cares. CASA Cares is dedicated to providing grants to benefit the growth, development and well-being of foster children in the Child Protection system. Grants provided by CASA Cares cover items not covered by county funds, such as summer camps, bicycles, and music lessons, to name a few.  LEARN MORE
