  • Laurie Kusek, President 

Laurie Kusek is the President of CASA Minnesota and the Guardian ad Litem Program Manager in the 4th Judicial District, Hennepin County.

  • Joe Winebrenner, Vice President

Joe Winebrenner is a partner at the law firm of Faegre Baker Daniels where he represents clients in litigation around the country. On a probono basis, Joe has represented Hennepin County guardians ad litem, including in a six-day contested adoption trial that resulted in a placement consistent with the guardian’s recommendation.

  • Megan Johnson, Treasurer

Megan Johnson is a Senior Finance Manager at Ecolab. She holds a BS in Environmental Engineering from Northwestern University, an MS in Environmental Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin.

  • Kelly Hudick, Secretary

Kelly Hudick is the owner and managing broker of Marathon Realty. She holds a JD from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas. Kelly has served on the CASA MN board since 2011 and became a volunteer guardian in the 4th judicial district in the fall of 2015.

  • Mike Tikkanen

Mike Tikkanen is the author of INVISIBLE CHILDREN, a national speaker, CASA volunteer Hennepin County guardian ad-Litem, founding board member of Friends of Children Foundation, CASAMN and founder of the nonprofit KARA, Kids At Risk Action. Mike’s mission is to speak for abused and neglected children and bring attention to their profound impact on our schools and communities.

  • Laura Miles

Laura Miles is the Guardian ad Litem Program Manager in the 2nd Judicial District, Ramsey County.

  • Sara Pearson

Sara Pearson is an account director at Introworks and serves on the CASA MN communications subcommittee. She supports volunteer acquisition, retention and other marketing initiatives. Sara holds an MBA from the University of St. Thomas.

  • Maurice Harris

Maurice Harris is a recent transplant to Minneapolis-St. Paul area moving up in October 2015 to work at Greater MSP as a research analyst. Before moving to the Twin Cities he was a Board Member for the CASA in Columbia, Missouri. 

  • Andy Valles

Andy Valles has always been a child advocate through his work in the American Red Cross, the Cub Scouts, the YMCA, and Junior Achievement.  Andy continues that passion with his volunteer advocacy work in the Ramsey County Guardian ad Litem program.  Andy is the Vice President of Solutions Engineering at U.S. Bank and has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois.

  • Heather Edelson

Heather Edelson is a Community Organizer, Human Rights Commissioner, and Education Advocate. She has a passion for children’s rights that is rooted in her own experience growing-up in poverty.  Mrs. Edelson has volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem with Hennepin County, holds a Masters in Social Work from the University of Minnesota and currently resides in Edina, MN with her husband, Brett, and three boys.

  • Monica Bordonaro

Monica Bordonaro is a paralegal, health & wellness coach, and yoga instructor.  She has been a volunteer Guardian ad Litem with Hennepin County since 2010 and joined the Court Appointed Special Advocates Board in the fall of 2016.  Monica makes it a priority to educate as many people as possible about the out-of-home, abused and neglected children in our communities by holding CASA educational and recruitment meetings.  She also manages the CASA Facebook page, event and educational postings, and calls for action.

  • Stacey Drentlaw

Stacey Drentlaw is a shareholder at the law firm of Leonard, O’Brien, Spencer, Gale & Sayre, Ltd. where she represents clients involved in the areas of transportation, construction, and multi-employer benefits.  Stacey has served as a guardian ad litem, and has also volunteered for Sabathani Community Center, St. Joseph’s Home for Children, and Special Olympics Minnesota.

  • Christopher Leckrone

Christopher Leckrone is the Fair Lending Officer at MidCountry Financial Corp. Additionally, he volunteers with Children’s Law Center of MN representing abused and neglected children. Chris holds a JD from New England School of Law.
